New in 2025: Alto Garda Tour – a journey through nature, villages and crystal-clear waters

Starting in June 2025, Garda Escursioni will enrich its offer with a new, evocative itinerary: the Tour of Alto Garda.
You will discover the villages of Limone, Malcesine and Riva del Garda with the option of stopping to visit the lemon houses and historical monuments.

General information

Organising your Alto Garda Tour is easy. The tour is available every Thursday and Sunday, with convenient departures from Limone sul Garda and Malcesine. Depending on the port of choice, you can board in the morning and be transported to the most spectacular views of the lake. Remember to book in advance – places are limited and the tour is already in high demand!

During the tour, you can stop to explore the village, do some shopping or enjoy a gelato break on the waterfront before continuing on to the next leg. An ideal option for those who want to enjoy their experience calmly and freely.

What to see on the tour: three villages, three souls of Garda

Each stage of the Alto Garda Tour is a little journey through time and beauty, amidst postcard views, historic architecture and corners to be discovered. What awaits you if you decide to get out and explore is …

Malcesine

In Malcesine, you can admire breathtaking views from the Castello Scaligero. The fortress, rebuilt in the 14ᵗʰ century by the Scaligeri, today houses the Natural History Museum of Monte Baldo and Garda, perfect for those who love nature and culture. A short stroll from the harbour is the elegant Palazzo dei Capitani, built between the 13ᵗʰ and 14ᵗʰ centuries, with frescoes and decorations that tell of the village’s noble past. The ground floor and garden, which are open to the public free of charge, are ideal for a relaxing break in the heart of the village.

Limone

Limone is a marvel nestled between lake and sky. Not to be missed is the spectacular suspended cycle path, at 50 metres above the water and extending some 2.5 kilometres to Capo Reamol, perfect for taking a walk to snap some unforgettable photos. An authentic symbol of the village are the historic limonaie – lemon houses – and in particular the evocative Limonaia del Castél, a terraced structure in stone and wood that houses a collection of citrus fruits grown according to ancient Garda tradition.

Riva

In Riva, you can stroll amongst palm trees and sails, sip a coffee or enjoy a gelato overlooking the lake. The cultural heart of the village is the Rocca di Riva, home to the Alto Garda Museum where art, history and archaeology can be explored in a single setting overlooking the water. And for those who love views from above, don’t miss the panoramic lift to the Bastione, an ancient 16ᵗʰ-century Venetian fortification, now also a coffee shop-restaurant with a priceless view of the lake.

Book your place and discover the history of the three most fascinating villages of Alto Garda.
